Feeding split wood into the side stoke hole of the Anagama. Side stoking commences when the back of the main chamber is bright red, at about 1450 F, and continues until the finish. When the main firemouth has climbed to 2400+ F, the front is sealed and we concentrate on the sides. Two or three hours of side stoking melts the cones in the back of the main chamber.
